Farmer's Market

We took Lauren and Ava to the Long Beach Farmer's Market.  Lauren liked looking at all the things in the farmers market and sampling different flavors. Doing anything outside always puts her in a good mood.  Her hair is also getting long in the front so you will now see her sport the "hair fountain" look.

Happy to be out!

With cousin Ava

Besides being outside, music is her other love.  She was captivated by the live music playing at the farmer's market.  Even protested when I tried leaving in the middle of a song! Here is a video of her playing along the music on her imaginary piano.

Made in China

There is no doubt about it.  She loves to be outside.  Any opportunity she gets to go outside, she takes it. Poor Bali has to now share her balls.

"Na na na"

Excuse the yogurt face but someone has a new word!  This weekend there seems to be an explosion in the babbling.  She is beginning to have more intonation in her babbling and even has the melody to some of the songs we sing to her.  Not the words, but sorta a humming sound.  She is definitely humming/babbling the singing of the ABC's song and Barney's I Love You song.  She had learned to say no, but it was coming out as "nye" but sometime this weekend she is finally saying "no".  And always in context too!

"Na na na" for banana is officially now her third word.  Second word was "dada".

Next word better be "mama"!

Daycare can be hard work!

It must have been a hard day at daycare today.  Lauren fell asleep eating her dinner.  She was eating one minute and babbling away and the next minute her fingers were in her mouth and down her head went.

3 months home!

Sunday marked 3 months home for Lauren. We can't believe that it has only been 3 months since she's been home.  In many ways it feels like she has been here forever.  Some of her newest development:
  • No more screaming or crying at daycare drop-off.  YEA!
  • Climbs into her high chair by herself (not always a good thing).  This is another way for her to communicate to us that she is hungry.  Doing much better with feeding herself with a spoon.
  • Starting to be picky about what she is wearing and which shoes she wears.  She definitely will let you know if the shoes you picked out is not the one she wants.
  • Says "neh"  for no.  Can say "da da" but not always in context.  (No, she is not saying "ma ma")
  • Will now sit in a restaurant high chair most of the time.  We are no longer scared to eat out at restaurants.  Although for now we will only go to loud restaurants.
We started the day with a visit to the local park.  Lauren is very confident in her climbing and loves the swing.

After the park we went and had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory where Lauren tried her first lemon.  She did keep eating it, but then got mad because the taste was sour.  She was very mad at the lemon.  LOL!

After lunch we headed over to the courtyard.  Lauren loves this courtyard!  She is all into running and climbing.

We then headed home and for the first time Lauren slept in her crib.  She was so worn out by all the running she did that she did not protest too much.  For now we will only use the crib for nap time.

Superbowl time means trying chili for the first time and learning the touchdown sign.

And finally we celebrated with homemade cake pops!

Happy 3 months of forever home baby girl!  We love you to the China moon and back!
