Lauren participated in her first holiday performance at school this year. We have been hearing her sing her songs at home for weeks now. The teacher assistant in her class told us that Lauren knows the songs well and will even get on other kids when they don't know their parts. But when the curtain opened, she froze on the stage. Would not even look or wave at us! She did at least look cute in her costume singing, "Must be Santa".
This Christmas is the first that Lauren has some understanding. Santa watching has helped in getting her to cooperate when given directions. Sometimes she even says, "Say Santa, Lauren is listening." When we went to see Santa and he asked if she wanted an Elsa doll from the movie Frozen, she said, "No way, I don't want that. I want legos." So legos she got. Superhero legos.
We then headed to Oom Ruben's to celebrate with the rest of the family.
