Santa 2014

Took 4 lollipops, but here are the Santa pictures for the year.

Scooter time

Lauren is getting more and more sure of herself on the scooter.  It used to be after a few steps she would have to stop and readjust the scooter to the middle of the sidewalk to start again.  She would go back and forth in front of the house on her scooter this way.  Once in a while she would want to go around the block and it would take about 20 minutes.

Well no more!   Now she is sure of herself and hardly has to stop to adjust.  She can even maneuver going around the corners without stopping.  Of course my heart does stop as I hold my breath waiting to see if she will make it still standing as she rounds the corners.  Thanks to tante Joanie, she is now well protected with her safety gear.  Now in 20 minutes, she probably goes around the block 4 times.

"Mama don't take a picture!  Help me!"

Stopping to admire Christmas decorations in the neighborhood.

It's Super WHYatt..... Halloween 2014

For Halloween Lauren wanted to be Whyatt from the show Super Why.  There are four characters on the show including a princess, a roller skating girl, but Lauren was firm that she wanted to be Whyatt.  So Whyatt she was.

The day started with the Halloween parade at school followed by "Trunk Treating".

At home she could not wait for Halloween to start.  She was very excited at the prospect of trick o treaters coming to the door.  The neighbors across the street were having a party and at one point she started yelling at any adults getting out of their cars, "I have candy!" in hopes to lure them to the door.   She loved going door to door and came home to examine her loot.  She has not had much candy so did not really know what most of the candy was, but knew enough to know that she wanted to open to try.

It's a mermaid

Our outdoor girl loves going to the beach and during the last few days of summer weather which went well into October this year, she discovered that she loved being buried in sand so that she can pretend to be a mermaid.

First day of school 2014

Wanted to memorialized Lauren's first day of school in the 2014-2015 school year.  She is back at Buffum.  We are lucky that she got to stay with her teacher, Mrs. Mantel.  Her best friends, Govani and Mauricio are still there too!  It helped that the school had a welcome back day before the first day and Lauren got to see her best friend Govani!

She was pretty confident leaving the house and pretty proud of the new backpack she picked out.  A blue green dog.  Blue and green are her favorite colors.

The official first day she was late as there was a mix-up with the school bus and we ended up taking her.   She was a bit apprehensive going being in the class but once she saw her buddies she adjusted just fine.

A blue green birthday! (#4)

A bit late, but we wanted to memorialized our girl turning 4 years old in September.   True to herself, she wanted a blue green Super Why party.  So of course a blue green party she got!  She loves the cartoon Super Why and her favorite character is Super Whyatt.  (We think its because he is a boy and he is blue/green)

Tante Cin made her a cake and blue green cupcakes!

Fun pinata time and jumper for all the cousins (even the big ones!).  And good thing Kevin came to break the pinata.

Turning four we have seen such growth in Lauren.  Her favorite toys right now are monster trucks and legos.  She has also started pretend play.  Thanks to her tias, she is busy taking our orders and cooking pretend meals for us.  Blue and green are her favorite colors.   I tried to get her a pink outfit to wear like princess pea in the Super Why cartoon.  Her response?  "Mama I like blue green.  You like pink and purple!"  We love that she sticks to her convictions and is confident about her choices.  Happy birthday to our blue green  super girl!
